Library Membership

A Belleville Public Library card is free to all who live or own property in Belleville upon presentation of personal identification showing current address. You must present documentation showing your current address to receive a card.

This card gives access to the shared collections of Belleville Public Library and Quinte West Public Library, collectively called the Hastinet Cooperative.

Children reaching the age of 12 may apply for their own library cards. For children under 12, a parent or guardian must register in person on his or her behalf and accept responsibility for fines and damaged or lost items.

Membership is updated annually. At that time, the member's name, address and telephone number are verified. Any outstanding charges must be paid in order to renew a library card.

The Library offers membership to non-residents of Belleville and Quinte West for an annual fee of $50.00 per card or $15.00 for three months.

The replacement fee for a lost library card is $3.00.

Borrowing Privileges

A valid Belleville Public Library card must be presented each time materials are borrowed.

Members are responsible for all materials issued on their card. Signing the library card implies acceptance of and adherence to all rules and regulations of Belleville Public Library.

Changes in personal information such as name, address or telephone number, as well as loss or theft of library card should be reported immediately.
